"Once you choose hope, anything is possible" - Christopher Reeve
Breast cancer is a devastating disease affecting more than 1.3 million women worldwide. Approximately 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime.
Being diagnosed and dealing with breast cancer can make you feel like you are all alone. It is a very scary place to be, with so much fear and uncertainty. One minute, you are feeling okay, then next minutes you are overwhelmed.
You may feel like your life has never be the same. You may feel as if your world has turned upside down. You may wonder why it is happening to you. It may feel like your life is on hold and as if there is no light at the end of tunnel. Families and loved ones can also feel frustrated, scared, angry, and helpless not knowing how they can help.
I provide psychotherapy to help women, men, and children affected by breast cancer so that they can be supported, understood, and empowered.
The clients I see include:
- Women newly diagnosed with breast cancer
- Women going through treatments and surgeries
- Breast cancer survivors
- Young breast cancer patients diagnosed under 40 years of age
- Women dealing with metastatic cancer
- Caregivers, spouses, families, children, and friends of breast cancer patients
- Women dealing with quality of life issues
- Families and friends dealing with loss of loved one(s) who died of breast cancer
More young women who are under 40 year old are being diagnosed with breast cancer each year. As a young survivor of breast cancer and as a therapist, I understand many common issues young women with breast cancer go through, including issues related to body image and sexuality/intimacy. No matter how old you are, breast cancer affects many aspects of your life. Please feel free to contact me to schedule a consultation.
