Yu_smallYu Enomoto is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) who has been working in the mental health service field for last 8 years.  She received her Master's degree in Counseling from California State University, Northridge.  

Yu is originally from Tokyo, Japan.  She came to the United States alone when she was 16 years old, and spent her twenties living between the U.S. and Japan.  Because of her unique immigration and acculturation experiences, she is culturally sensitive and understanding as a therapist.  Yu is a survivor of rare form of breast cancer called Inflammatory Breast Cancer.  She is actively speaking out to raise awareness about this deadly type of breast cancer.

Yu's professional experiences include working at community counseling clinics, in-home therapy programs, and a psychiatric hospital.  She has extensive training and experience working with adults who struggle with mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder. She also has worked extensively with adults dealing with both emotional issues and substance abuse.

Yu has an eclectic method of counseling with an emphasis on
humanistic orientation. Her approach to working with clients is based on understanding their unique inner experiences and finding their strengths.  Through use of therapeutic relationships, she helps clients gain awareness and understanding of themselves, their strengths, thoughts, feelings, and relational patterns so that they can start making positive changes in life.   

Yu is a member of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists). 

Yu is bilingual in English and Japanese.
